Little Lush Haul

Hi Ladies. I've decided to do something new on my blog. Instead of saving up things I buy and doing one huge haul (which is time consuming for me to write and for you to read!) I thought I would just do small hauls more often of bits and bobs I pick up as and when I buy them. The first haul instalment (that has a nice ring to it...) is from Lush; one of my all time favourite shops. Their bath products are second to none and whilst considered to some a luxury, for me they have become a necessity! The first product is Honey I Washed The Kids soap. My all time favourite Lush scent and something I have repurchased many times. I've just finished by bottle of It's Raining Men shower gel (which has the same scent) and thought instead of buying it again I'd revert to my old ways. The ingredients are English Honey, Sweet Wild Orange Oil, Beeswax and Bergamot Oil.The scent is incredible and lasts all day. If you haven't smelt it before I urge you to right away! The soap is £3.40 per 100g and I bought roughly 200g. The second product is Twilight bath bomb, another re-purchase. Lush bath bombs are my favourite of their products and this one smells and looks beautiful. The main scents in Twilight are Lavender Oil, Tonka Absolute, Benzoin Resinoid and Ylang Ylang Oil. It's an incredibly relaxing scent and perfect for having a soak in the bath after a long week. Twilight is £3.35. The final product is Dragon's Egg bath bomb. This is sitting as my room as I speak and it is doubling up as an air freshener- it's all I can smell! The main scents are Lemon Oil, Bergamot Oil, Jasmine Absolute and Popping Candy. It is the most wonderful, uplifting scent. It's not a bath bomb I've tried before so I can't wait to try it! Popping candy and confetti sounds most intriguing! Dragon's Egg is also £3.35. It sounds quite pricy for a bath bomb but they are so big that you could cut them in half and get two baths out of them.

So there's my little Lush haul! I'm sure it won't be long until the next one!

My Top 5 Favourite High End Foundations

L-R: Givenchy Teint Couture, Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk, MAC Studi Fix Fluid, Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua, NARS Sheer Glow.

Hi Ladies! This is actually my first post of the year! Everything in my life has been so full on and hectic recently that regrettably, blogging has had to take a back seat. Today I'm sharing with you my top 5 high end foundations. Over the years I've tried load of foundations and I've found that it's usually worth paying the extra for overall better quality. Here are some that I recommend, especially if, like me, you suffer with oily skin and are looking for something that will last all day...

1. Givenchy Teint Couture Fluid Foundation- Until working in a department store, Givenchy was never a brand I thought about trying. My lovely friend Beth, who is the stores Givenchy representative is so passionate about her products, and rightly so. She matched me to a foundation and I have used it so much it's nearly all gone. It has a light weight feel, but still has plenty of coverage. I do have to touch up with powder throughout the day when I wear it, but I have grown to expect that. It is really natural and a great foundation for everyday wear.

2. Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation- This is such a raved about foundation on the internet and I'm so glad I jumped on the bandwagon! My whole Giorgio Armani has been amazing, from the customer service to the product itself. It makes the skin look so perfect and lit from within. It has a beautiful glow, yet doesn't look shiny at all. If you're searching for a new foundation definitely look into this one. (If you're in London, go to the Selfridges counter, the staff there are SO helpful!

3. MAC Studio Fix Foundation- An absolute cult product and possibly my favourite foundation ever. It has everything I look for in a foundation and I've already bought a new bottle. I wear it to college everyday, it stays put all day and doesn't look cakey (when paired with the right concealer and powder. I use YSL Touche Eclat, Collection Lasting Perfect Concealer and MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural). MAC do many different foundations, but this is 100% my favourite.

4. Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation- This is the foundation I reach for when I'm having a good skincare. As you can probably tell from the use of 'aqua' in the name, it is water based and therefore very light weight; therefore amazing for the summer. You need the tiniest amount too so it lasts for absolutely ages. I've loved this for a very long time and will repurchase it when (if!) the sun starts to come out!

5. NARS Sheer Glow Foundation- Last but certainly not least is NARS Sheer Glow Foundation. I haven't been wearing it as much recently as I bought it in the summer for my prom when I had a spray tan but I know I need to buy a new bottle that is a better match for my skin. This is the perfect foundation if you are going to an event as not only does it make your skin look absolutely flawless, but there is not SPF, meaning you get no flashback on photos!

Thank you for reading, let me know what you're favourite foundation is as I love trying new ones!
Lots of love,

My Favourite Autumn/Winter Fragrance | Diptyque Eau Duelle

Hi Ladies! Today I'm sharing with you my current favourite fragrance for this time of year. Working in fragrance has left me slightly snobby. I don't really wear perfumes that are readily available anymore- I'm so used to smelling the same ones all day that I want something completely different.
Diptyque is a brand that I originally found out about because of Fleur De Force. She was raving about Eau Duelle and how it is the perfect 'spicy scent'.

The top notes of this fragrance are Vanilla, Spices and Frankincense. This is the description on the Diptyque website:

Vanilla is refined between shadow and light. Brightened up by a vibrant top note of cold spices, then made sensual by black frankincense whose powers of seduction are devilishly engaging.

One of the reasons I was so drawn to this scent was because it is unisex. I love wearing stronger scents and because it is for men as well, it is a lot more intense than other fragrances. Even though it is an eau de toilette, it is incredibly long lasting- I'd say it rivals Tom Ford on that front.

The scent it so perfect for the colder months as it is so warming. The vanilla scent is very strong, so if you're not a fan of vanilla, I wouldn't recommend this scent. But for those of you like me, that love vanilla, I'd say it is perfect!

Diptyque is available from Space NK, Harrods and Liberty and is £55 for 50ml and £72 for 100ml (mine is 100ml).

What are your thoughts on Diptyque?

Lots of love,

October Wishlist 2014

Hi Ladies! I haven't created a wishlist for a really long time and they're one of my favourite posts to write. I have been at my new job for 3 months, (I work on the fragrance department of House of Fraser as a sales advisor) and now I am earning again I couldn't help but put together a few (OK a lot) things that I have my eye on!

1. Oh god. I have lusted after this bag for well over a year. For me, it is practically perfect in every way. (Sorry, couldn't resist a Mary Poppins reference). The size, the design, the colour- I just love it. It is a classic bag that will last me years throughout all the seasons. A worthy investment if you ask me...
Michael Kors Selma Tote Bag- £315

2. The next item is the By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Misty Rock. If you haven't heard of these- where have you been?! Every beauty blogger/vlogger has been raving about these and this colour in particular. Tanya Burr I'm looking at you. As it's a purple shade I feel it will compliment my eye colour really nicely.
By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Misty Rock- £28

3. As I work at a fragrance counter, I have actually started to strongly dislike most of the ones I sell. I think it's because I am smelling them constantly. Anyway, I have been on the hunt for a new scent and Diptyque is a brand that is harder to come by and therefore not as many people have it. Eau Duelle is a spicy vanilla scent- perfect for the upcoming colder months. Since starting this blog post, I actually bought the fragrance- IT'S AMAZING!!
Eau Duelle Eau de Toilette- 50ml/£55- 100ml/£77

4. I have tried this primer before, and it is a holy grail product for me. The only downside is the steep price. It really is amazing though and makes your skin feel so lovely as well as increasing the staying power of foundation. Hourglass is a great brand that I really want to try more products from!
Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer- 10ml/£20- 30ml/£52

5. Shiseido is a brand I have only just discovered. Working on the beauty department means I'm also at the different counters playing with the makeup and I have fallen in love with Shiseido. The Shimmering Cream Eye Colours are simply stunning, the consistency is incredible, as is the pigmentation. The staying power is meant to be great too so I can't wait to try one! The colour I have my eye on (if you pardon the pun) is Green 707. A beautiful mossy green.
Shiseido Shimmering Cream Eye Colour- £21.50

6. I'm at college all day in the week and whilst my current everyday shoes are comfy, I desperately want some Nike Free 4.0's. They look great with rolled up black jeans and a slouchy T-Shirt. They're definitely pricey but so worth it. I already own a bright pair that I (rarely) use for exercising so I know what I'm buying! I have a few friends that own a pair and they don't have a bad word to say about them!
Nike Free 4.0 Trainers (price depends on where you buy them)

7. Ted Baker is one of my all time favourite brands. I have had one bad experience with a handbag but mostly it's great. My beloved rose gold clutch bag that I took to prom is Ted Baker. For years and years I have always loved the Caleena Bow Matinee purses; but the leather ones, not patent. I love the pink colour of the one pictured above and they feel so luxurious. Of course I also love the rose gold detail. If you hadn't already guessed it, I'm still completely obsessed with rose gold.
Ted Baker Caleena Bow Leather Matinee Purse- £75

8. Back to Shiseido again. I have incredibly oily skin and I have never found a powder that has kept the oilyness at bay for more than a few hours. Whilst I was at the Shiseido counter at work I swatched this powder and I kid you not- it is the most pigmented face powder I have ever come across. I went home and straight away found reviews for it and they all sing its praises and say it's the best powder ever! Something I definitely want to test for myself! The finish is matte and the coverage is medium.
Shiseido Sheer Matifying Compact Foundation- £38

9. I have worn the exact same pair of earrings every day for the past year. I absolutely adore my Tiffany hearts but I want some new earrings that are slightly more 'glamorous' to wear on more formal occasions. I have loved these Thomas Sabo ones for ages and I don't own a pair of rose gold earrings!
I can't find a link for them online, but I've seen them at loads of Thomas Sabo counters including the one in Selfridges.

10. I feel that this Michael Kors necklace will really compliment the earrings mentioned above. Again it is rose gold. The chain is quite long which is something that I'm looking for in a necklace. It's so simple but therefore perfect for every day wear!

Perhaps a haul will be on the cards in the near future?...
