My Favourite Pink Nail Polishes & Summer Picks

Hi Ladies. With Summer basically upon us, (not that you would know it with the rubbish weather in the UK) I thought I would show you my favourite pink nail varnishes that are also great picks for those warmer days when you are looking for a pop of colour on your nails.

Sinful Colours- Orange Cream
When in my local Boots, I was originally looking for Barry M Peach Melba; for some reason all Barry M nail polishes were out of stock, something to do with a faulty batch. So the next brand I immediately looked at was Sinful Colours. I found a colour almost identical to Peach Melba and bought it without hesitation. The formula is lovely, and I wore it for three days without a top coat and it didn't chip at all!

OPI- It's All Greek To Me
I bought this in Target in Florida, (sighs longingly) and wore it nearly everyday whilst I was there. It is the most gorgeous pink. One coat is enough for an opaque covering. The photo above doesn't really do it justice as it is so much prettier in person. I highly recommend this polish, not just for the colour, but the formula and finish is bar none.

Essie- Fiji
I managed to grab this on my Boots advantage card. It is a classic, effortless colour and is so easy to pull off. It compliments almost all skin tones and is the perfect nude without being to white. It looks very elegant too.

Barry M- Flamingo
Flamingo is a bright coral- pink. Again, it is very flattering, and for £2.99 you can't really go wrong. It is one of my go-to summer colours that I rely on again and again for a bright pop of colour on my nails. The formula is alright, once you try higher end nail varnishes, Barry M doesn't seem like the be all and end all, like it use to in my very early teens. But as I said, for the money, it's great!

Models Own- Soda Pop Pink
I bought this at The Clothes Show back in December for around £2 on a whim, and had never used it until about 3 months ago. I would describe it as a dusty rose pink colour. Different to your usual pastel pink- just slightly darker. I think its a little more subtle as its not as bright as in your face as some baby pinks. The formula is again alright with this, and it smells pretty awful, but I paid a minimal price for it, so I really can't complain!

My Top 5 Festive Nail Polishes

Christmas is my favourite time of year to wear nail polish. As much as I like pastels in the Spring and neon's in the Summer. I adore dark, glittery shades for the colder months. I have picked my top 5 :

L-R OPI Affair in Red Square - Models Own Purple Blue - OPI Golden Eye - Essie Bahama Mama - OPI The Living Daylights

OPI Affair in Red Square- This is a really deep red with slight shimmer. It is so festive, and red nails always make me feel so glamorous. The application is lovely, it is nearly opaque after one coat.

Models Own Purple Blue- Strictly speaking, this shade isn't really festive, but I love wearing it out. It is a lovely party colour. It catches the light beautifully as it is duo-chrome. (It is part of the Beetlejuice Collection).

OPI Golden Eye- Without a doubt, this is my favourite nail polish of the moment! It was a bargain too, as I managed to grab it on ASOS for £4! It is part of the A/W James Bond Collection and it is the most stunning Christmas shade. It is a glitter polish, and usually OPI glitter polishes are a right pain to get off, but this one is fine!

Essie Bahama Mama- In September/ October, every beauty blogger seemed to be raving about this. I bought it whilst in America, and still love it. It is very simple, but looks great on the nails.

OPI The Living Daylights- This is also from the James Bond Collection. This time last year, OPI Rainbow Connection was all anybody wanted for Christmas. And whilst this polish isn't as colourful, it is just as pretty. The main glitter particles are orange, gold, silver and teal. It looks lovely over any colour and on one finger or all of them!

Wednesday Wishlist #1

In the past, I've made a few wishlists, but never got round to keeping them up, but after reading my fair share of wishlists today, I thought it was about time I started making them myself!

1. Topshop Moto Zip Hem Neon 7th/8th Jeans- These will be just perfect for summer! Knowing British weather, I dont know how much sun my shorts (or legs!) will see, so these quarter legth bright pink jeans will be perfect for those days when your torn between your winter jeans and your hotpants!
Currently on sale for £15, RRP £38. Here.

2. Vintage Minnie Mouse for OPI- My perfect OPI collection! What girl doesnt adore a stunnig combination of reds, fushias, glitters and creamy pinks! The colours L-R are If You Moust You Moust, I'm All Ears, The Colour Of Minnie & Nothin' Mousie 'Bout It. I know I definatly have my eye on the first two, from the photos I've seen from fellow bloggers, they are absolutly stunning!
£10.50 each, and available at some department stores, online and salons.

3. Topshop Sleeveless Peplum Top in Magenta- Peplum tops and dresses are everywhere. Celebrities worldwide are sporting them, as they claim, to create the illusion of a smaller waist. I've seen this particular top on a few people now, and it looks really flattering on.
£16 here.

4. Look Triple Hit Trio Eye Shadow in La Luxe- I know I'm a bit late on the badwago here, I remember whe reviews for this palete were everywhere, but I never really paid much attetion to it. But when I was in Birmingham, I came across my first Look counter, and swatched these eyeshadows out of curiosity, and I fell in love! The pigmentation is amazing, and the three colours are so pretty!
Curretly on sale for £4.50, RRP £7.50. Here.

NOTD: Pastels & Glitter

Before I start this post, I will say that I painted my nails, borrowing my Best Friend's nail varnishes before Birmingham on Saturday.

Here is the look I created:

I have Essie Mint Candy Apple on all of my fingers except my fourth, and on that one, I have OPI Last Friday Night on top of Essie Lapis of Luxury.

Hope you liked this short post!

NOTD- Spring Brights

The weathers so gloomy outside at the moment, I wanted to lift my mood, and do a bright nail design for the weekend!

I painted all my fingers apart from my ring finger with OPI Atomic Orange, and then my ring finger with Barry M Shocking Pink.

January Favourites!

So before I start the post, I must say, I don't think I've really brought anything new this month! I'm saving up for when me and my family go to London, and despite the shops calling my name, I stayed strong and restrained!

Some of the things are not beauty related, as, after all, who says monthly favourites only have to be about beauty products? Although, I do contradict myself a bit, as this is a beauty blog. Ah well....

1. PRIMARK PJS: My mum brought me these just after Christmas, as my other ones had a hole in the, ahem, bum area... But she brought me these to replace the other ones, and I have worn them, literally, every, single day. When their being washed, I don't know where I am! Their so soft and warm, and I put them on as soon as I get home! And actually, I'm wearing them as I speak!
RRP: £5

2. ACCESSORIZE GLOVES: Another gift from my mum. You must think I never buy anything for myself! But I love wearing neutral colours, and I wear a neutral scarf a lot of the time, and Mum saw these and pointed them out to me. They were in the sale, but they are the thickest, softest, warmest gloves I have ever had! I love them!
RRP: £3.60

3. OPI NAIL VARNISH in TEAL THE COWS COME HOME: This nail varnish came in the mini brights set that I got for my birthday, and I kid you not, I have not worn any other colour on my toes since. And my birthday was in October! The colour is so beautiful, and so unique, and I think I might buy the big size! I've worn it on my fingers a few times this month, and oh my, the colour is too die for!
RRP: Big size: £10.50

4. BENEFIT CREASELESS CREAM EYESHADOW in BIRTHDAY SUIT: I've had this eyeshadow since probably March last year, and I still have well over half of it left. I went through a stage of not wearing it very often, butt now, I wear it all the time! I have worn it during fitness and gym sessions, and honestly, it did not crease one bit! I do wear it with a primer though. But it really is amazing! I'm looking forward to trying the Maybelline Eye Creme Tattoo's though, I have my eye on 'Bold Gold' and 'Bad to the Bronze.'
RRP: £14

5. URBAN DECAY PRIMER POTION: Me and this primer have a love hate relationship. I got this small size of it with the Naked Palette, last October, and I liked it at first, but then I began to think it was running out. But now we're in January, and I have realised that it has lasted me this long, and this is every day use! But sometimes, it does tend to crease my shadow, but that is only if I am having an overly oily day.
RRP: Big size: £14.50

6. N07 FOUNDATION BRUSH: I found this in a Boots, in the sale back last August. It was a complete steal as they are usually about £11, and I paid £3. Recently, I've really been into using a brush to apply my foundation. And this brush is lovely. The bristles are really soft, and it leaves a really nice look to my face.
RRP: £11 (£3)

7. THE BODY SHOP SEAWEED CLARIFYING NIGHT TREATMENT: This night serum is specially for oily skin, and it is said to reduce the oiliness of your face, while hydrating it through the night. It is really nice and smooth to apply, and skin feels lovely and soft the morning after I use it. I have also noticed a difference in the clearness of my skin after using it.
RRP: £10

8. THE BODY SHOP TEA TREE OIL: Another item from the Body Shop. I use this oil on my blemishes, and depending on the size of it, it usually dries up over the course of the night. I really like it, and it has cleared my skin up no end!
RRP: £6

So theres my monthly favourites for January! I cant believe we're already 1 month into 2012!

What are your monthly favourites?
