Review | NARS Deep Throat Blush

Hi Ladies. Let's get the name of this product out of the way first. Nars do like naughty names for their products. Deep Throat and Orgasm are favourites among bloggers. I think the names of Nars products in a way show the outrageousness of the brand itself. Whilst a lot of Nars colours are lovely and wearable, they are some crazy colours out there! But on to the review. Until this year, I had never tried any Nars products, but 2014 has seen the arrival of two Nars products to my collection. (And its only the end of February, oops!) For me, blushers are what Nars are most well known for. Orgasm is raved about by so many and Deep Throat is the same. I was nearly reduced to tears last year when I found out that the Guy Bourdin for Nars Blush Palette had sold out on the Space NK website. When I couldn't get my hands on the palette, I promised myself that I could buy myself a blush to make up for it. I decided that Deep Throat was the one for me. It is quite natural and will be perfect for S/S.

This is a peachy pink shade, leaning more towards pink. It is laced with the most beautiful subtle gold shimmer. Thank god no glitter as that is something that I had in face products. Who wants to look like a disco ball? Whilst it clearly is a shimmery blush, it is very natural and perfect for every day wear. Although it can be build up for a more dramatic look for the night time. Which leads me onto the pigmentation. Nars blushes are incredibly pigmented. I barely need to tap my blusher brush into the pan, and already there is enough for the apples of both of my cheeks. The just goes to show what amazing quality they are and proves that sometimes you do get what you pay for. Also, they will last such a long time, because you need so little product each time you use it.

It looks lovely on my pale complexion, but I can see it looking equally as nice when I (hopefully) have a bit of colour in my face when the summer months role around. But it is perfect for all year round and a really versatile blush.

Overall, I am so please with this blush. I have worn it every day since I got it, and have barely used my once beloved Benefit Rockateur blush! I know I will get a lot of use out of this and I'm sure I will try more Nars blushes in the future. At £22.50 they aren't cheap, but its only a pound less than Benefits Box Blushers. Nars is quite readily available. I bought mine in the Selfridges Beauty Hall, but you can also buy them from Space NK and Asos.

What are your thoughts on Nars Blushes? Have you tried Deep Throat?

Love,

September Favourites

Seriously. How is it October already? Oh my god! Anyway, here are my September Favourites!

1. Chanel Vitalumier Foundation- When I bought this foundation, I knew I was only going to wear this on special occasions, because of the price tag, I really don't want to wear it on a day to day basis! This month, I have had a few chances to wear it, and because I haven't worn it for a while, I fell back in love with it! It makes my skin look so flawless and perfect, I just love it so much! Although it is one of the most expensive products I own, it is totally worth it!
RRP: £32

2. Rimmel London Mono Blush in Santa Rose- Last week, I did a review of this blush, you can read it here so I wont go into too much detail, but this blush is amazing! It is really pigmented, and a gorgeous colour and for the price, it is amazing value!
RRP: £3.99

3. Maybelline 24h Gel Eyeliner- Again, I have a review of this here and this isn't the first time it has been in a monthly favourites. This month, I have been wearing this eyeliner every single day. For school, I have been wearing just a bit of this on my eyes instead of my usual natural eyeshadow; which is saying something, as I was never much of an eyeliner wearer for everyday! But it is just so quick and easy and lasts all day!
RRP: £7.99

4. Urban Decay Naked Palette Colours in Sin, Toasted and Hustle-

Whenever I have been going out, I have been wearing a combination of these colours. I have used Sin all over my lid first, then Toasted in my crease and Hustle in my outer V. Purple tones really compliment my green eyes, and I think these colours look beautiful together.
RRP: £32

Here are some FOTD pictures of me wearing the makeup I have spoken about above:

5. Redken Colour Extend- I received this in a She Said Beauty Box, and never really thought that much of it. But since I had my hair ombred, I have been reaching for this every day. It makes my hair so soft and shiny and really intensifies the blonde in my hair.
Not sure of the price as this is a sample size.

6. Avon Super Shock Mascara- I have used this mascara before, and I was given this as a gift a few weeks ago and remembered how much I liked it. It gives me really full looking lashes, and has a really big brush. If you don't like dry mascaras though, I would stay clear, as it is very dry!
Again, not sure of the price as it was a gift

7. Soap and Glory Flake Away- As it is fall now, soft legs should be the least of my worries, but with Florida coming up, I am keeping them in good condition! I bought this mini size exfoliator as I have read really good reviews about it, and I can see why! It leaves my legs so soft, especially using my Victoria's Secret Body Oil afterwards!
RRP: £2.50

Review: MAC Heavenly Creatures Mineralize Blush in Solar Ray

In a previous wishlist I said how much I wanted something from the MAC Heavenly Creatures Collection. I knew that I wanted a blush and the one that stood out to me, was in the shade Solar Ray. It is a beautiful summery, shimmery coral.

Packaging

As usual with MAC products, the packaging never fails to look sleek and up-market. With subtle black shimmer and and a domed clear lid, it oozes sophistication.

Colour

MAC described this blush as

Peach and Gold Melange

It is a dusty peach colour with minimal shimmer as the base, but it then has a shimmery orange gold swirled through it.

Here is a close up of the blush.

Pigmentation

This blush doesn't have the best colour pay off in the world. You get a fair amount of product on your brush, but it doesn't transfer onto you skin. I actually like it like this, as you can build up the colour. It becomes a light golden veil when on the skin. It does contain a LOT of shimmer, so if that's not your thing, I would suggest you avoid this blush!
I love the colour it gives your cheeks, a lovely golden shimmer, which is very summery.

Staying Power

Usually, I find blush is the first thing on my face to go. But I do find that this blush lasts a little longer than those I have tried in the past. I get quite a lot of compliments whilst wearing this blush too.

Price

As expected with MAC products, they are a little on the pricey side, but i my opinion, totally worth it. They are amazing quality and you get a lot of product that lasts a long time for the money.
RRP: £19

The Heavenly Creatures Collection is Limited Edition, but MAC do lots of different blushes. Theres something for everyone!

What are your thoughts?
