Review | Maybelline Baby Lips

The Maybelline Baby Lips are no secret in the blogger world. They have taken the world by storm and every one and their mother (including mine) are talking about them! The funny thing is, this review is a year late. I bought my four when I was in Florida exactly this time last year. I was planning on doing a post then, but I figured the majority of my followers are British and they wouldn't want to read about how great a product is when the can't their hands on them!

I love these little tubes of goodness. The colour range is average, but in fairness, Maybelline have covered all bases. They are sheer balms and aren't in the slightest bit sticky. The colour pay off is great and they are brilliant for every day wear. My most worn colour is the red shade- Cherry Me.
They are all incredibly moisturising and keep chapped lips at bay- which are rather common around this time of year.

Overall I would recommend them to anyone looking for the perfect every day lip colour. They are available from Boots and Superdrug for £2.99.

Paris Haul | City Pharma, Sephora, MAC, Rituals & Thomas Sabo

Hi Ladies, or should I say Bonjour? I have recently returned from my long weekend in Paris and thought I would share with you my purchases. I made a wishlist of things I had my eye on, which you can find here and I can safely say I bought everything I wanted and more! I'm not going to go into much detail about each products as reviews will be following shortly. I have been suffering with a bit of 'bloggers block' as of late; but I have got the bug again!!

The first thing products are from Rituals, which is a brand I had only really heard of because Fleur was raving about the Honey Touch Body Cream. Curiosity reached the better of me, so I dragged my Mum into the store at the airport to have a whiff. The lady who worked there was absolutely delightful and I think definitely sold the products! We immediately fell in love with the scent of the Honey Touch and also bought the Touch of Happiness Body Cream as there was a deal which was if you bought two Body Creams you got a free shower foam- we chose the Happy Buddha Shower Foam. Purchase 1 made and we weren't even out of the country!
Body Creams: £12.50 each
Shower Cream: usually £5.40

The second purchase was made in the Champs-Élysées MAC store. I hadn't intended on buying anything from MAC, but in the end I couldn't resist! I bought two new eyeshadow pans for my palette in the shades: Satellite Dreams and Satin Taupe.

Palette Refills: €13 each (£11)

Next is Makeup Forever Smokey Lash Mascara. The Sephora on the Champs-Élysées is not only next door to MAC, but is absolutely huge! I didn't know where to start! I knew there was a chance of me spending a hell of a lot of money in there if I browsed too much, so I headed straight to what I went in there to get. I'll let you know how I get on with it!
Makeup Forever Smokey Lash Mascara: €20.90 (£18)

I'll next move onto my bits from City Pharma. These are the things I was most excited to purchase. I knew I wanted to go to City Pharma, as I am well aware it is the best value pharmacy. It took us a while to find it (including a night of hoofing around Saint Germain, only to find we'd had literally only just missed the turning)! But we finally found it- and I fell in love...
I'll quickly whizz through what I got by brand:
I firstly purchased the two pack 500ml normal Bioderma Micellar Water  as no beauty blogger would go to Paris and return home without it. I also picked up a 250ml Bioderma Sebium Micellar Water which is formulated for oily skin. I then bought Bioderma Sebium Pore Refiner on recommendation of Lisa Eldrige. I then repurchased a 30ml bottle of Caudalie Beauty Elixir and also from Caudalie, Zoe spoke about the Caudalie Vinoperfect Enzymatic Peel Mask. I picked up another mask which is the Ducray Triple Action Mask. Another must for me was the Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm: a beauty blogger cult favourite, and I can now see why! I then bought the La Roche Possay Effaclar Duo Moisturiser which I have very high hopes for. And finally I got a La Roche Possay Thermal Spring Water Spray.
Bioderma Micellar Water 2x500ml pack: €15.50 (£9.50)
Bioderma Sebium Micellar Water 250ml: €5.95 (£5)
Bioderma Sebium Pore Refiner: €11.30 (£9.70)
Caudalie Beauty Elixir: €7.99 (£6.88)
Caudalie Vinoperfect Enzymatic Peel Mask: €19.90 (£17)
Ducray Triple Action Mask: €8.90 (£7.60)
Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm: €6.90 (£5.90)
La Roche Possay Effaclar Duo Moisturiser €9.40 (£8.10)
La Roche Possay Thermal Spring Water Spray €5.99 (£5)

I then bought a Thomas Sabo Eiffel Tower charm for my bracelet, so that I will always have a lovely memento from my amazing trip to Paris!
Thomas Sabo Eiffel Tower Charm: €24 (£20)

I hope you enjoyed this haul!

Cambridge Wishlist

Topshop Floral Lace Crop Top, Topshop Spot Print Skater Skirt, MAC Satin Taupe, Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector, REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask, Bourjois Cream Blush 02, MAC 217, Topshop Macaroon Lipstick.

On Thursday, one of my best friends and I are travelling up to Cambridge for a couple of days for some sight-seeing, shopping and to visit her brother who is currently studying at Cambridge University. I've heard some mixed reviews about shopping in Cambridge, and having never been myself, I'm not entirely sure what is there, but I have devised a wishlist never the less!

Last week, I was in town with my friend Holly and we had a little try-on session in Topshop. I put together this little duo, and really loved the way it looked. The Floral Lace Crop Top and Spot Print Skater Skirt went really well together, and are classic items of clothing that are never going to be out of fashion. I have had my eye on MAC Satin Taupe for absolutely ages but have never got round to purchasing it. I cant wait to pair it with MAC Naked Lunch as the combination is well known for being one of Tanya's favourites. The Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector's have made quite an impact on the blogging world, and I for one have buckled under the hype and really want to try one. Judging by the pictures I have seen online and swatched instore, I think Candy Shimmer is the shade for me. If you haven't heard of the REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask you must have been living under a rock because every beauty blogger and their dog has been raving about it. I am hoping it will tackle my blemishes and leave me with the glowing, radiant complexion I lust after. Another product raved about of late is the Bourjois Cream Blush. I think 02 Healthy Glow will be the shade I will go for. I have never tried MAC brushes, and I intend the 217 Blending Brush to be my debut into the world of MAC brushes. It is used in so many makeup tutorials on youtube and looks as though it applies eyeshadow effortlessly. Last but not least is Topshop Macaroon Lipstick which looks like a beautiful, easy to wear colour for summer.

What is on your wishlist?

Review | Revlon ColourStay Foundation Oily/ Combination Skin

My skin is something that I have never been completely comfortable with. I don't mind not wearing makeup, when I work on a Saturday, I wear absolutely no makeup, (I work in a kitchen) and I don't mind too much but I feel so much more happy when I have makeup on. I have tried numerous foundations over time, and my current one is the Revlon Colourstay Foundation. This foundation is for oily to combination skin. I have never used a foundation for a particular skin type, just Chanel Vitalumier Aqua, Rimmel Wake Me Up and Bourjois Healthy Mix which have worked well, and do stay on nearly all day, but nothing has ever combated oily skin completely. But that was before I used this! First I will talk about application, I have some pictures below to show you:

My natural skin, absolutely no makeup, just moisturiser.

After applying Revlon Colourstay Foundation

Me with full makeup:
Revlon Colourstay Foundation, Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat, Collection 2000 Concealer, Rimmel Stay Matte Powder, Topshop Cream Blush in Flush, Sleek Brow Kit, Yves Saint Laurent Shocking Mascara, MAC Plink Lipstick

As you can see, the foundation provides a very high amount of coverage and is very pigmented- without looking too cakey. On my skin, it nearly stays looking like this throughout the whole day. When I use it in conjunction with Rimmel Stay Matte powder, it hardly budges, which is great!

My only problems with the Revlon foundations is the packaging. Its awful! Sure the glass bottle is nice, but you have to pour the foundation out (which is rather thick) and it can get very messy, and a lot of the time ends up everywhere. It is also hard to judge how much product you are going to want to apply, so some of the product does get wasted unless you try and put it back in the bottle.

Apart from that, I have nothing but good things to say about this foundation and I urge anyone who suffers with oily skin to go to their nearest Boots or Superdrug to have a look at this foundation.

What are your thoughts? Have you ever tried it?

Review | MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft N Gentle

Highlighters are the one makeup product that I have never really dabbled in before. I used to use a dupe for Benefits High Beam a few years ago, but I thought it was never really a necessity; I have oily skin, but the sweaty Betty look is not one I am particularly drawn to, but then again neither is the shimmering disco-ball-face look. But last year, after reading countless rave reviews of this Mineralize Skinfinish, I decided to bite the bullet and purchase whilst on holiday in Florida. I love MAC face products, and Mineralize Skinfinish Naturals and Blushes are staples in my every day routine.

Gilded peach bronze

I apply this to my cheek bones with my Real Techniques Setting Brush and love the natural gold/peachy glow that is added to my complexion. I find that it adds something a little extra to my makeup and really completes it. I don't wear it every day as I think it could be a little to heavy for when I want light makeup, but I love wearing it on weekends and in the evenings.
MSF last for absolutely ages, I've had my MSFN since last February, and whilst it is nearly gone and in desperate need of a repurchase, it is still being used- that's the sign of a good product!
Pigmentation is incredible, and it transfers exactly how it looks in the pan onto the skin. And come on, any lady who is a sucker for pretty, sparkly things, surely cant resist this, its simply stunning!

I defiantly want to branch out and add more MSF to my collection, but for now; Soft N Gentle is the only one for me right now! What are your thoughts? Have you tried Soft N Gentle?

'Going Out' Makeup Look

Hi Ladies! Sorry I have been absent recently! I've had so much going on and haven't had time to sit down and write a post! I've really missed blogging!
After seeing Tanya Burr do a makeup tutorial using MAC Lipstick in Rebel, I knew I wanted to have it in my collection. I then received it for Christmas from my little sister. I then re-created Tanya's look with my own products. It is the perfect glamorous look for going out, I will defiantly be wearing it a lot!

For the face, I didn't do anything too extravagant. My foundation is a little to dark for my skin, as it is my summer foundation. I was planning on using Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua, but my skin is in pretty bad condition, so I wanted something with a little more coverage.
The products I used were:

Benefit That Gal Primer
Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation
Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Concealer (under eyes)
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer (blemishes)
MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural
MAC Buff Powder Blush

For the eyes, I started off priming with MUA Professional Eye Primer. I then used MAC Naked Lunch all over the lid, using a flat shadow brush. Then I used Urban Decay Blackout on a hard angled brush to create a soft line on my upper water line. I then slightly winged it out, then at the end of the wing, drew a line through my crease, about a third of the way. Then using a blending brush, softened the line. Then using a fluffy brush, I used Sleek Illusion in the corner of the wing to deepen the look, and on the lower lash line. I then used MAC Smolder Eye Kohl in my water line, and applied YSL Shocking Mascara.

On my lips, I am wearing MAC Rebel.

Hope you try this look out for yourself- it really is lovely, and so easy to recreate!

Review: MAC Heavenly Creatures Mineralize Blush in Solar Ray

In a previous wishlist I said how much I wanted something from the MAC Heavenly Creatures Collection. I knew that I wanted a blush and the one that stood out to me, was in the shade Solar Ray. It is a beautiful summery, shimmery coral.

Packaging

As usual with MAC products, the packaging never fails to look sleek and up-market. With subtle black shimmer and and a domed clear lid, it oozes sophistication.

Colour

MAC described this blush as

Peach and Gold Melange

It is a dusty peach colour with minimal shimmer as the base, but it then has a shimmery orange gold swirled through it.

Here is a close up of the blush.

Pigmentation

This blush doesn't have the best colour pay off in the world. You get a fair amount of product on your brush, but it doesn't transfer onto you skin. I actually like it like this, as you can build up the colour. It becomes a light golden veil when on the skin. It does contain a LOT of shimmer, so if that's not your thing, I would suggest you avoid this blush!
I love the colour it gives your cheeks, a lovely golden shimmer, which is very summery.

Staying Power

Usually, I find blush is the first thing on my face to go. But I do find that this blush lasts a little longer than those I have tried in the past. I get quite a lot of compliments whilst wearing this blush too.

Price

As expected with MAC products, they are a little on the pricey side, but i my opinion, totally worth it. They are amazing quality and you get a lot of product that lasts a long time for the money.
RRP: £19

The Heavenly Creatures Collection is Limited Edition, but MAC do lots of different blushes. Theres something for everyone!

What are your thoughts?

Review: MAC Teddy Eye Kohl

Woodwinked Eyeshadow and Teddy Eye Kohl were two products that were recommended to me a long time ago, and after recently receiving them as a gift, I have been adoring wearing them together! They compliment each other perfectly!

It comes in the usual sleek, black MAC packaging, but this time with a subtle glitter.

This eyeliner has to be, by far, the most pigmented eyeliner I own! It is so luxurious to apply!
MAC describe it as an Intense Bronze which sums it up really! It does have a slight shimmer to it too, but not enough to make it incredibly noticeable.

Usually, I like wearing black eyeliner, to make my lashes look thicker, but I have found, wearing this, gives you a more natural, 'girl next door' look that is completely appropriate for this time of year!

Personally, I think this eyeliner wears really well; I always wear a primer on my eye lids, but I don't know if it would fare to well if it came into contact with water, so I wouldn't recommend it as a waterproof eyeliner.

This eyeliner is priced at £14.

All About Clinique

My mum went into our local drug store, and had a makeover at the Clinique counter. She ended up purchasing everything that was used! I'll show you everything she brought and what she looked like. The lady at the counter was an old family friend, and instead of giving my mum one free makeup bag for buying all of the products, she gave me and my sister one too! Which was very lovely of her!

Here are the products:

This is the look that was achieved by using the products:

The products she brought are:

Clinique Superbalanced Powder Makeup SPF 15 in 02 Natural
Clinique Quickliner for Eyes in 12 Moss
Clinique Airbrush Concealer in 04 Neutral Fair
Clinique Chubby Stick in 04 Mega Melon

Chubby Stick in Mega Melon

And this is the makeup bag that the lady gave me:

Clinique Youth Surge Night Age Declarating Night Moisturizer
Clinique Liquid Facial Soap Mild
Clinique Rinse-Off Makeup Solvent
Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion
Clinique High Lengths Mascara

If any of these products are outstanding, you might see a review!

What are your thoughts on Clinique?
