Sleek Sparkle 2 Palette | Review & Swatches!

Whilst at the Clothes Show Live, I knew I wanted to go to the Sleek stall and purchase the Sparkle 2 Palette. I have been on the hunt for something exactly like this, to create festive eye makeup looks!
This palette is limited edition, so if you like what you see, make sure you buy it soon!

You can see from the pictures above, a beautiful array of shades are included in the palette. All of them contain a lot of shimmer; so if you prefer matte eyeshadows, I would stay clear! All of the eyeshadows are insanely pigmented- it is such amazing quality for the price! I wore a combination of colours tonight, (side note: I went out to my local night club to see Union J play, and then met them! They were sooo lovely!) I used Chocolate Penny and Festive, and it made a beautiful Christmassy eyeshadow look. I am planning on putting a few looks together using this palette?

Overall, I adore it, and cant wait to use it more and more over the festive period! It retails at £7.99, which equates to about 65p an eyeshadow!! (And in my opinion, they challenge MAC quality!)

Review | Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette (And Do You Need Both)

Before I even set foot in the USA, I had my mitts on the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette. Having received the original palette for my birthday at the same time last year, and using it and loving it to death; when I saw it in the duty free magazine, I couldn't resist!

Like the original palette, you get 12 well sized eyeshadows, that are all insanely pigmented and gorgeous quality. This palette contains a variety of cooler tones, compared to the original palette which is made up of warmer tones.

The first colour is Foxy. It is a pale yellow colour that I use every day as a highlight. The next one is Half Baked which is probably my favourite eyeshadow in the world! I adore it in the original palette, and it is the only eyeshadow I have ever hit pan on! So I am defiantly glad its in this palette! Thirdly is Bootycall which is a pretty shimmery champagne pink and then is Chopper which is an orange toned rose gold colour.

The shade Tease was the disappointment for me. I was really looking forward to trying this, as I love the look of a light shimmery eyeshadow on the lid, with a matte purple through the crease; but I don't think this is pigmented enough to get the desired effect. I think I'm going to have to look elsewhere in the likes of MAC Quarry! After that is Snakebite. It is a shimmery bronze, that is less intense and easier to wear than Smog from the other palette. Then is Suspect. It is a very light shimmery gold, and Pistol is a light grey with silver reflects.

Verve is a lovely intense silver, and YDK is a very glittery gold colour. (Beware of fallout)! Busted is a deep grey, that looks great in the crease when paired with Verve. And finally there is a gorgeous matte black- Blackout.

Here you can see them all swatched:

As you can see, they are all amazingly pigmented!

Also with the Naked 2 Palette, you get a mini lip junkie lipgloss:

The shade is really natural, and is so easy to wear. It smells really minty, and makes your lips tingle, in order to plump them.

You also get a double ended Karma Brush with a flat brush and a crease brush on either end.

Now, here's the question, do you need both the Naked 1 & 2?

I must say, I prefer the packaging of the second palette, it is sturdier and easy to clean, and doesn't look as messy.
They both contain stunning colours. The majority shimmery, which is fine by me, as I don't usually wear matte colours.
Personally I think, unless you are a complete beauty obsessive like myself, it is not compulsory to own both. Depending on whether you want warmer or cooler tones. You just need to decide which one appeals to you the most. I hope these pictures are helpful!

Wednesday Wishlist #11

1. Republic Crafted Studded Slippers- I saw these in Republic the other week. I had my eye on a pair similar ages ago, but never got round to getting them. I love the colour of these, and as they are neutral, they will go with anything, and the studs will really dress up a simple outfit.
RRP: £25

2. GOSH Holographic Nail Varnish- I never bought this polish when it was at the top of its peak, but I am ecstatic to find out that its being relaunched! It will be the perfect holiday polish for me, and I cant wait to get it! Imagine how it will sparkle in the Florida sun!
RRP: £4.99

3. MAC Lipstick in Impassioned- After watching MacBarbie07's Cher Lloyd tutorial again, I really liked the look of MAC Impassioned; a shade I've never given much thought to. It looks amazing on and I think it would be great for holiday!
RRP: £13.50

4. New Look Black Scalloped Collared Shell Top- This really caught my eye on the New Look Website it looks so stunning, but is really simple. It will be lovely for winter with a wooly cardy, but as a dressy top in summer too!
RRP: £14.99

5. Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette- I own the Original Naked Palette, and they are probably my most loved and most used eyeshadows! (Although my MAC Palette is a very close second)! I'm starting to hit pan on a few of the shades, and I think I might invest in the Naked 2. (And it has my favourite colour Half Baked in it)! The Palette consists of a range of warmer toned colours, so perfect for winter and the festive months!
RRP: £35

6. Zara Dog Print Top- I tried this top on in Zara, but it was a little too small, and they didn't have the size up. It is so sweet, with little french bulldogs on and understated studs on the shoulders. It is a really flattering cut, and comes in two colours- mint green and cream.
RRP: £22.99

Review: MAC Eyeshadow in Woodwinked

I think I mentioned on my blog that I was ill the other weekend. And as I was lying in bed, thinking I couldn't possibly feel any worse, my dad came home. (He works away in the week). He then presented me with a MAC bag with a few things I have had my eye on! So Thank You Dad!

The first item, is an Eyeshadow in the shade Woodwinked.

What MAC says:

Warm antique gold

It is a Veluxe Pearl Finish.

It is a very intense gold colour, that has very strong orange undertones, which I can imagine could be very hard to pull off, if you have very fair features. Having slightly darker features myself; I can get away with it!
It is not a very glittery eyeshadow, it contains more of a subtle shimmer.
I like wearing this at night, as it is a very simple shade that can be amplified, making your eyes really pop! I usually wear it with Teddy Eye Kohl.
The pigmentation is as usual fantastic. You only need a tiny swirl of your brush as a little goes a long way!

Overall, I absolutely love this colour. It is very versatile. It can be worm day to night, summer to winter!

What are your thoughts on Woodwinked?

MAC All That Glitters Dupe?!

I can safely say, after buying my first MAC eyeshadow, I fell in love. The pigmentation and colour pay off, staying power and all round excellent quality has me completly in awre!
But despite my love fore them, like everyone else, I am always on the look out for dupes, but little did I know, I had a similar shadow in my collection already!

The dupe I have found is Barry M Dazzle Dust in Tan.

L- Barry M, R- MAC

The only difference is, the Barry M is a bit less peach, and more shimmery. The staying power of the MAC is much better, which I guess is a given, as 9/10 times, you get what you pay for with MAC. Even with a primer, MAC doesnt crease at all, where as with the Barry M, you may come across slight fading throughout the day.

Price Difference:
MAC All That Glitters=  £10 in pan form, or £12 normally.
Barry M Dazzle Dust in Tan= £4.59

Saving of:
£5.41, or £6.51 depending on how you purchase you eyeshadows.

Personally, I prefer the look of All That Glitters when its on the lid, but if you are on a budget, then the Barry M Dazzle Dust is perfect!

Do you own either of these?

The colours L-R are If You Moust You Moust, I'm All Ears, The Colour Of Minnie & Nothin' Mousie 'Bout It. I Went To MAC...

I can only apologise for my recent lack of posts, but I will be making up for it, by writing lots of new posts, and two new youtube videos are up on my channel- yay!

On Saturday, me and my best friend went to Birmingham on a shopping trip that we had been planning for at least 3 months! We were originally going to go to Cardiff, but there was a problem with the trains to Cardiff, so we changed to Birmingham at the last minute, but I think its safe to say, we're both glad we did!

I've recorded a Big Collective Haul where I show all the bits I have bought recently, but I'm going to do a few blog posts, to talk about some of the products in more depth.

Unlike Cardiff, Birmingham has no MAC store, just a counter in Selfridges. As expected, it was manic, but we did find a lovely sales assistant to help us find what we wanted.

The first item I wanted, was the 15 Pro Palette. It is a sleek, black, empty palette that you can fill yourself with your choice of whatever colours. The slots are magnetic, to ensure that when you insert any pan eyeshadows, you are reassured that they are not going to fall out.

Obviously, an empty palette isn't the least bit appealing, therefore, an eyeshadow in pan form was a must!

The shade I bought was one that I knew had to be my first MAC eyeshadow. It is the perfect neutral that suits any skin tone and is incredibly flattering.

The shade is All That Glitters.

This picture shows the magnet on the back to ensure it stays in place in the palette.

What MAC says:

Beige with Gold Pearl

It is a Veluxe Pearl Finish.

Personally, I think it is more of a peach colour when on the eye lids- but I guess the people at MAC are the experts!

Despite the name, this eyeshadow contains minimal glitter. It has a slight shimmer to it, but nothing too extravagant. It is a perfect day colour (and as I have said already) it flatters all skin tones.  Although you could dress it up with a darker bronze or brown in the outer corner of your eye, and use eyeliner, to transform it into a night-time look.
As usual with MAC products, the pigmentation is phenomenal, and you really get what you pay for. One swatch gives enough product to cover your whole eyelid.

I also purchased a lipstick that I have had my eye on for a while.

It is, in my opinion, the perfect nude. It compliments any eye look you are wearing; whether its a neutral or smokey eye, and again, it will work with any skin tone.

The shade is Creme Cup.

What MAC says:

Light Blue Pink

It is a Cremesheen Finish.

It is a really wearable nude, perfect for day and night. The name 'Cremesheen' sugests it is a very 'creamy' lipstick. It applies beautifully and doesn't dry the lips at all. Also, the blue undertones in the lipstick give the illusion of whiter teeth.
Again, pigmentation is amazing, not something I'm used to as my other MAC lipstick is a Lustre finish, which doesn't give as much coverage.

Pricing:

15 Pro Palette- £11.50
Eyeshadow in Pan Form- £10
Lipstick- £13.50

I hope you enjoyed this MAC post, and comment below and tell me any MAC products you would recommend!

Review: Benefit Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow in Birthday Suit

If you have read my blog for a while, you may have noticed that I am a big fan of cream eyeshadows. And seeing as every man and his dog (including me) are doing reviews on the Maybelline Colour Tattoo Gel/Cream Eyeshadows, I thought I'd talk a little bit about other cream shadows that are on the market.

Now, I'm not trying to persuade you away from the Maybelline Colour Tattoo's, as they are incredible value, and these ones are considerably more expensive, but I will do a review never the less!

So the products is the Benefit Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow in Birthday Suit.

As you can see, the packaging is very similar- glass bottom with the black lid.

I've had this eyeshadow for nearly a year now, and I still have at least a quarter left, and I used to wear it every single day!

On the Benefit website, the shade is described as a 'Brushed Crome' in my eyes, in some light it looks like a dark gold, and in some light it looks like a very light bronze. Like with all eyeshadows, they look different to and on other people.

You can see the colour by the swatch.

The consistency of these are a lot creamier than the Maybelline ones. They are softer on the fingers, and easier to blend.

Again, creaseless wise, both are as good as each other, they really don't budge at all! Even if you have oily lids!

The only plus side to these ones, are that they are easier to blend, and they have more selection of colours that are more suited for every day wear.

Have you tried either of them? Which did you prefer?

Review: Maybelline 24h Colour Tattoo in Eternal Gold

Last weekend, I got my hands on a Maybelline Colour Tattoo, and have been using for the past few days, so that I could do a review of it.

The packaging is very sleek and sturdy, with a similar look to MAC Paint Pots and Benefit Creasless Cream Eyeshadows. Although, the magnified glass bottom can be a bit misleading, as it leads you to presume that there is more than 4g in the pot! But with such a lovely product, we can look past that, cant we?!

The name says that these eyeshadows will last for 24 hours. Firstly, who needs makeup to last for 24 hours? I personally like to wash my face twice in that time period! But because it is said to last for 24 hours, it means it will last for the whole working day, without a problem.

The pot is a little bit larger than the Benefit Cream Eyeshadow, meaning you are getting a bit more product, and the price is considerably cheaper! When it claims to last all day, it really does! I have incredibly oily lids, and it lasted well with and without primer. Usually, even with my Urban Decay Primer Potion, powder eyeshadow will have creased at around the 6 hour mark, but this has really exceeded its expectation!

This picture portrays pretty well the gorgeous colour. It is a beautiful gold, very similar to Urban Decay Half Baked when on the lids. It is incredibly pigmented, and a little goes a long way. I got so many compliments when I was wearing it, and its the perfect eye product for summer, as you don't need to worry about topping it up!

You can see here, the amazing pigmentation! The colour is so lovely- I think I am a little bit in love!

It is such a bargain at £4.99, with competing products priced at around £14, and in my eyes, this is really up there with the high end products!

I will defiantly be investing in the Bronze shade as they are so great!

Have you tried one? What are your thoughts?

Just a Small Haul...

Hasn't the weather been lovely this weekend?! I'm sat outside in shorts as I speak! Summers defiantly on its way, and yesterday, I popped into town. Originally looking for the Revlon Lip Butters, which are still not available. (Damn living in a small town)! But I did come across something else I have been trying to get hold of for a while- a Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24h Cream Gel Shadow!

You've seen enough of my FOTD's to know that gold is my favourite colour to wear on my eye lids, so it will come as no surprise that I got it in the gold shade!

In America, and everywhere else that these were, before the UK release, this shade was going under the name of Bold Gold, but it seems to have changed to Eternal Gold. I'm not sure if its just for the UK or they changed the name? But it is a lovely colour never the less!

I haven't tried it yet, so rest assured, there will be an upcoming review of me giving you my two penny's worth!

I also have my eye on the bronze colour, and the matte taupe, (although they didn't have it in my local Superdrug) and they are only priced at £4.99. Which compared to the Benefit Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow (£14) and MAC Paint Pots (£13.50) they are a bargain!

I also popped into Primark, and my friend spotted a top that she knew I would love! My favourite animal (well bird) is an owl, and this is the top she found.

Its a cropped T-shirt with kind of frills on the hem and sleeves and the owls are just so cute! And it was only £4!

And then whilst browsing  the jewellery, I saw these, and after seeing just one pair of them, I knew I had to have them!

The middle ones on the top row are the pair that I had to have. My dad is a guards man (grenadier guard).

They're all adorable and great for this year with the Olympics and Diamond Jubilee coming up!

These were £2 for all six pairs.

I didn't get a lot, but I'm pleased with what I did get!

Have you tried the Maybelline Colour Tattoo's?
